Train, Mechanical (2003-2009) by Paul McCarthy at the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires

4 Jun

So I just saw this on Saturday. It was within the exhibit called Bye, Bye, American Pie at the MALBA; which featured the work of seven contemporary American artists:Jean-Michel Basquiat, Larry Clark, Nan Goldin, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Cady Noland and Paul McCarthy. The show was curated by Phillip Larratt-Smith; who curated anotheer big exhibit in Buenos Aires about Louise Bourgeois at Fundación PROA last year.

Loved the show, really. I appreciate the work of all of these artists and really enjoyed their company on Saturday.

More on my thoughts later this week; I’m still processing the experience.

One last thing… Is it wrong for me to find the pigs’ skin super cute? I just wanted to stretch those bellies!
